Introduction
VoxTori ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how information is processed when you use VoxTori for macOS.
Data Processing
On-Device Processing (Default)
By default, VoxTori processes audio, speech recognition, and translation on your Mac. VoxTori does not send speech audio or transcripts to VoxTori servers.
Enhanced Mode (Optional)
Optional Enhanced Mode may send speech audio to Apple's servers only after you explicitly enable it and consent. Translation remains on your device even when Enhanced Mode is used.
You can disable Enhanced Mode at any time. Apple's processing is subject to Apple's privacy policies.
Information Stored Locally
Transcript history, translations, timestamps, language pairs, and audio source information.
Application preferences, language selections, display settings, and feature toggles.
Local usage statistics used for quota management and time-saved calculations.
Minimal local troubleshooting logs for language asset downloads. These logs are not automatically transmitted.
Direct Billing Information
In the Direct version, an explicit billing action creates or reads a random VT License ID stored in macOS Keychain. RevenueCat receives that identifier to provide the offering, entitlement, and purchase status. The secure checkout processes payment details.
VoxTori does not receive or store full payment-card information. Core app use does not require an email or password account. The App Store version uses Apple's StoreKit and App Store transaction records instead of the Direct billing flow.
Information We Do Not Collect
VoxTori does not collect contacts, location, tracking identifiers, full payment-card information, or speech content on VoxTori servers. Audio used for transcription is processed in real time and is not saved as an audio recording by VoxTori.
Data Sharing
Apple services: When Enhanced Mode is enabled, speech audio may be sent to Apple's speech recognition service.
Apple App Store: The App Store version uses standard StoreKit transaction records.
RevenueCat and secure checkout: The Direct version sends the random VT License ID to RevenueCat for offerings, entitlements, and purchase status; checkout processes payment details.
Legal requirements: Information may be disclosed when required by law or to protect users and our rights.
Security and Your Choices
Local data uses standard macOS security features. You can delete transcript history, change retention settings, disable Enhanced Mode, manage language packs, and revoke app permissions in System Settings.
Uninstalling removes ordinary app data, but the Direct VT License ID may remain in Keychain. You can remove that item through macOS Keychain Access.
Permissions
VoxTori may request Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions. Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions are optional and used only for features that capture other apps' audio or provide global shortcuts.
Data Retention
Transcript history follows your configured retention period.
Preferences and local usage statistics remain until changed or removed.
Local troubleshooting logs can be deleted manually.
Children and International Users
VoxTori is not intended for children under 4. If Enhanced Mode is enabled, Apple's servers may process data outside your country, subject to Apple's privacy practices and applicable law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy and will update the date shown above. Material changes may also be announced in the app.
